Completed in 2004, the McLaren Technology Center serves as the group headquarters and reflects the company's design and engineering expertise. The main frame of the building, developed in part with the company’s own technology, contains over 5,000 tons of steelwork.
The artificial lake is not just ornamental. Used to cool the building and the wind tunnel, it is pumped via a natural filtration system of reed beds and a cleansing biotope through to the building’s heat exchangers.
