The AltraFlex compression file system combines high-performance hardware accelerators for data compression with device drivers and the Compression Decompression File System (CeDeFS) to provide a complete systems solution for high-density primary storage. The compression file system accelerator allows users to save as much as half of the capital cost of large file servers by compressing data before storing it to disk. Read this paper to learn more.
