Over-the-Air Testing of Diversity and MIMO Capable Terminals

To meet the demand of high data rate applications, new wireless technologies such as LTE, LTE-Advanced and Mobile WIMAX require the use of multiple antennas in mobile terminals. A MIMO device will adapt to the RF environment.  Hence, there is a need for an advanced testing methodology  capable of creating such propagation conditions in a repeatable fashion. This paper presents a test system designed for measuring the end-to-end performance of multi-antenna terminals.
