Duration:60 min

Overview:
Architects and designers have used I2C for over 30 years to simplify their designs. Today's systems are getting faster and increasingly complex in terms of inter chip communication, whether it is Personal computing, Enterprise computing, Network infrastructure or Mobile platforms. Systems today have different timing domains and capacitive loading considerations. One effective solution to address these challenges would be to continue using an interface like the I2C-bus that offers simplicity and ease of design; but at higher speed for faster data transfer and with higher drive strength to allow longer buses or more devices on the bus without using buffers. This webinar will discuss the Fast-mode Plus (Fm+) I2C interface which supports up to 1MHz speeds and higher loading compared to Fast-mode (Fm) I2C. Trade-offs and system challenges that need considerations when designing with Fast-mode Plus I2C will also be addressed. As inventors of I2C bus, NXP continues to drive innovation in taking the I2C-bus standard to the next level and offers a comprehensive I2C technology portfolio with a variety of bus enablers and peripherals.

In this webinar you will learn about:
  • The 1 MHz 10X normal drive Fast-mode Plus (Fm+) I2C Interface
  • How Fast-mode Plus (Fm+) I2C can add value to your system
  • System design considerations and trade-offs when using I2C interface.
  • NXP's I2C portfolio

Duration: 60 min.

Who should attend?

  • System Architects planning to include I2C in new designs
  • Hardware Engineers working with I2C standard
