Duration:60 minutes

Overview:
New A/D technology in digital oscilloscopes is setting new standards in wide-band digital oscilloscopes. 12 bit ADC's, coupled with low-noise front-end amplifiers, are providing engineers with 16x more vertical resolution, wider dynamic range, 4x improvement in DC gain accuracy, and improved Signal-to-Noise Ratio.

Join LeCroy as we look at the details of these technology improvements for specific application examples. Comparisons of 12 bit versus 8 bit will be discussed with attention on: methods to improve accuracy; 12 bit scopes performance versus stretching the performance of 8 bit scopes using averaging and filtering; practical design examples of detecting and measuring  small signals buried in large signals; 12 bit  versus 8 bit ADC's with frequency domain measurements.

Presenter:
Stephen Murphy, Business Development Manager, LeCroy Corp.

Steve Murphy has been in the Test & Measurement industry for over 30 years and has experience in field applications, sales, product development, marketing, and business development.  Steve has been with LeCroy for 16 years and held positions with Tektronix and Teradyne. He has a BSEE from Northeastern University and has recently focused on high-speed serial and switched mode power supply design applications.
