Mechanical orchestra to make sweet music at DESIGN West

The Intel Industrial Computer in Concert is a robotic orchestra, synchronizing a host of plastic and metal percussion instruments that ping, pong, bong and blink blue-hued light each time a nearby paint gun strikes them with a tiny rubber ball.

Students demo intelligent car designs

At the recent Embedded World in Nuremberg, three universities - the University of Applied Sciences Landshut, the University of Applied Sciences Deggendorf and the Czech Technology University - ran demonstrations which showed the implementation of the Freescale technology.

New bus information displays installed in preparation for the Summer Olympics in Weymouth had to be removed because they were too noisy!

Apple iOS-based oscilloscope under the spotlight

Disposable sensors just the tip of the iceberg

A grant of around $1.4 million by the UK's Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) has been awarded to create a wireless network of sensors that will reveal the flow of glaciers at the edge of the Greenland Ice Sheet.
