Vacuum tubes: A 'valve' video, a tube amp modeler, and a joke

The video appears to be from a film from the 1950s and is in English. Part 1 (9:41) introduces tubes and their constituent parts and shows one being hand assembled, piece by piece:
Part 2 (6:20) looks at the raw materials that go into manufacturing tubes, and begins a look at how tubes were manufactured in a factory:
And Part 3 (7:32) continues a look at how tubes were factory manufactured - in this case, the Mullard EF80 pentode - and concludes with the testing of the final product:
On another note, business colleague Mark Roberts (Principal Analyst, Wireless/RF at Semiconductor Insights) recently emailed me about an interesting tube amplifier modeling software plug-in product for musicians - the Peavey ReValver MK III. Mark posted about the plug-in on his DIY vacuum tube gear blog, noting the software's unprecedented degree of "tweak-ability."
The software not only models 15 of the most popular guitar amplifiers using an algorithm that "analyzes the interactions of the components on the circuit level, based on the amps' original schematics," but also has a "tweak" feature that lets users change tubes and calibrate tube voltage parameters, as well as modify power amp rectifiers, output transformers and tone stacks. As Mark notes in his blog post about the ReValver, this capability is approaching that of engineering design software.
Finally, tube-o-philes and audiophiles alike will certainly appreciate the post "My wife is cheating on me," by "Very Concerned," which appeared recently on one of the forums at KVR Audio (a news and information site about audio plugins for musicians). Enjoy!
