August's caption contest winner announced!

As we leave behind the sweltering summer months and prepare ourselves for the oncoming arctic chill of winter, I am mindful of the fact that there is some unfinished business to be settled here at EE Life; namely, August’s caption contest.
Suitably, to fit in with my tortured metaphor above, it has penguins in it.
Since I was still transitioning into my editor role at EE Life in August, I failed to realize this community was run democratically, and voted on caption winners squarely and fairly.
I promise you free and fair elections in future, but for now, seeing as August is a fair way behind us as we steam on into October, I’m going to use my authoritative powers to pick a caption winner myself.
It wasn’t easy. Most of your entries made me chuckle quite a bit. I loved TGR’s reference to “something fishy going on in conference room 3” and Wnderer’s “Ice queen” deserves special mention, but when all was said and done, I felt that it was really Don Parreco’s caption that won it.
“Not only is the new engineer a "bird-brain", his designs won't fly.”
Now that really is catch of the day (or rather, the month!)
Don, that color print will be heading your way very shortly…
And for the rest of you…. It’s back to the polls as you get your right to vote back for September’s caption contest. Also, don’t forget to put yourselves in the running for our latest cartoon, fresh off the presses today.
