Silicon Valley pub quiz

Sylvie Barak

It's been a long hard year, and what better way to ring in the new than with some free beers, good company and a bit of healthy competition among engineers?

But don't get us wrong, this will be an engineering throwdown of intensely geeky proportions. Like the Game of Thrones; you either win....or you die! Well, maybe not quite... and either way you get free beer, so come play!

Teams will consist of 5-8 people, so either bring your own teammates with you, or we will assign you players at the door. Questions will range from the basics, all the way through to "Thank God I got my PhD or I'd never win this pub quiz!" - with a few random 70's music trivia questions thrown in just to throw you off.
Your strEEt cred is totally at stake here, but no pressure!

Show up with your quiz crushing crew to Molly Magees Irish Pub, 241 Castro Street, Mountain View from 5.30pm on Tuesday. There'll be free booze until 7.30, so come thirsty (but also please bring a designated driver!)

Looking forward to seeing you all for a night of festive fun and games!

Bit far for us Aussies to come (even if there is free beer!). But I hear there is a nice hobbit-themed pub in New Zealand which is a bit closer?

Bit far for us UK people, too. I'll be doing my usual pub quiz on Thursday, though there are rarely any EE questions. I say rarely, because here's one we got asked once, which I got wrong:

What does MPEG stand for?

I said motion picture experts group and was marked wrong!! Tight IMHO.
