And December's caption winner is....

The winner is a writer who understands the subtle social underpinnings of both
Santa Claus and engineers!
Give it up for dedicated EE Lifer Tim (TFCSD) whose artful assessment of Daniel Guidera's Christmastime cartoon captured the honor, dedication and ethics of the engineer's mind:
"Yes, I know who it is. Nobody gets the next release until release date."

An august panel of judges gathered to consider the scores of excellent nominations, over a bowl of egg nog, and decided that Tim's entry put engineers in the driver's seat and brought Santa--who can get his way any time--down to earth. It was, in the by-then bleary eyes of the judges, the perfect metaphor for marketing or cranky customers.
Tim gets a colorized, signed copy of Guidera's masterpiece with his caption affixed to it and the thanks of a grateful editor.
Don't forget to "bat over" your captions (you'll get it when you see it) for January's contest edition (just how Guidera comes up with this stuff remains a mystery).
Now a last word on contest protocol: We will resume voting on finalists in the January contest. Various events here at EET have thrown off the rhythm of the contest postings and voting routine, and now we're back on it. So, get captioning! January closes in less than two weeks!
