DSPs they are a-changin'...

Gone are the days when DSP defined a narrow area of expertise co-opted by a handful of specialized companies. Also gone are the days when editors and journalists were more or less one-way conduits for information transfer.

Now DSP is everywhere and being used in some form or fashion by everyone from designers of motor systems to multimedia handsets, from RISC cores and FPGAs with MACs attached, to banks of DSP arrays in full swing, the world, it seems, is run by DSP.

So it is with this in mind that I'm particularly excited about picking up where Kenton Williston left off.

I of course will continue to bring to you the latest in DSP technology, the algorithms that run upon it, and the development tools that help enable the two to work together.

On top of that, I'll be bringing you the latest techniques newly minted to enhance your algorithm and system development expertise. Consider me and the DSPDesignLine your DSP 'counselor', if you will.

To carry that analogy even further, I can only help you if you talk me and tell me what ails you. That's where some of the subtle changes in the editor/reader relationship has taken place over the last few years and what I intend to work with you to enhance here on the DSPDesignLine.

Clearly, it's a two-way conversation now. To enable that, I have worked to make our comments box at the end of each article more interactive. If you leave a comment or ask a question, hit "Track this Thread" and you'll be updated by email when someone responds.
