Alberto Sangiovanni-Vincentelli to talk at ICCAD

The IEEE Council on Electronic Design Automation (CEDA) –– www.c-eda.org –– will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the International Conference on Computer-Aided Design (ICCAD) with a talk by Alberto Sangiovanni-Vincentelli, the Buttner chair of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Berkeley.
His presentation, “ICCAD at 30 Years: Where we have been, where we are going,” will examine the past and future evolution of computer-aided integrated circuit design. Part of CEDA’s Distinguished Lecture Series, it will be held Tuesday, November 6, from noon-1:45 p.m. in the Grand Hall at Hyatt Place in San Jose. It is open to all full ICCAD conference and Tuesday conference-only registrants.
About Professor Sangiovanni-Vincentelli
Alberto Sangiovanni-Vincentelli co-founded Cadence and Synopsys and is a member of the Board of Directors of Cadence, Sonics, ExpertSystems, KPIT Cummins and Accent. He serves as a member of the General Motors Science and Technology Advisory Board and the Technology Advisory Council of United Technologies (UTC), and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Italian Institute of Technology.
He is on the advisory board of Walden International, Xseed and Innogest Venture Capital Funds and is on the investment committee of Banca Intesa Fondo Atlante and Finlombarda Next Venture Capital Fund. A member of the Scientific Council of the Italian National Science Foundation, he also serves as president of the Group of 7 Research Supervisors of the Italian Government.
Dr. Sangiovanni-Vincentelli received the Kaufman Award for pioneering contributions to EDA and the IEEE/RSE Maxwell Medal for groundbreaking contributions that have had an exceptional impact on the development of electronics and electrical engineering or related fields. He is an author of more than 880 papers, 17 books and three patents, and is a fellow of the IEEE and a member of the National Academy of Engineering.Brian Bailey – keeping you covered
