Automaker BMW has developed a series of short videos on the future of mobility, cities and technology. Titled "Wherever You Want To Go," the series explores technology, culture, cities, our past, present and how it all relates to the future of mobility through interviews with a diverse range of thought leaders.

The documentary style series is offered in four video segments:

  1. "The New City" (5:57 min) discusses the question of how our modern cities will sustain and provide us with transportation systems that are not only efficient, but eco-friendly.

  2. Featuring Buzz Aldrin, the second segment - "The Future Just Isn't What It Used To Be" (5:49 min) - asks (among other things) "Where are our flying cars?"

  3. "Reinventing Mobility" (7:03 min) considers the equation "The Internet + The Smart Grid = Connected, Sentient Automobiles that Drive Themselves" and asks "So In the Future Will There Still Be Room On the Road For Muscle Cars?"

  4. "How We'll Learn To Stop Worrying and Love the Future" asks "Where is mobility going?" and "How can we best prepare ourselves for what's next?"

BMW's video player for the films allows viewers to access additional content around a theme, quote, or speaker in real time, as well as post comments directly to specific moments of the film for others to see and react to.
