It's World IPv6 Day. Actually, it’s a bigger deal than you might think. According to the Internet Society, organizer of the event, ISPs participating in the World IPv6 Launch are providing for a minimum of 1% of their wireline residential subscribers to use IPv6.

Committed ISPs include:

  • AT&T
  • Comcast
  • Free Telecom
  • Internode
  • KDDI
  • Time Warner Cable
  • XS4ALL

Network equipment manufacturers that will enable IPv6 by default through the range of their home router products by the big day include:

  • Cisco
  • D-Link

Web companies participating in the launch that will enable IPv6 on their main websites permanently beginning on launch date include:

  • Facebook
  • Google
  • Microsoft Bing
  • Yahoo

Finally, enabling IPv6 through their infrastructure are content delivery network providers Akamai and Limelight.

More info? Go to World IPv6 Launch, where you can join the festivities, show your support, and find all kinds of banners, logos, and stuff.
