Dive into DDR4 with JEDEC workshop

So JEDEC released the DDR4 standard. Now what? To get the most out of the standard, you need to learn more about it. What are the new features? Why should you migrate your design? How do you integrate it? How do you test it? How do you leverage it to make a better product?

Yes, despite almost seven years of development efforts by the JEDEC committees, in many ways the work is just the beginning. Now, designers need to understand the nuances of the standard in order to develop products or incorporate existing DDR4 modules into their own products. To help with this, JEDEC is holding its inaugural DDR4 Workshop, designed to help users unlock potential of the new standard.

Scheduled for October 30-31 in Santa Clara, California, the two-day workshop will feature sessions taught by members of the various committees involved in developing the standard. Topics include a comparison between DDR3 and DDR4, reasons to migrate, how DDR4 enhancements can ensure the integrity of bus interfaces, testing DDR4, and the shift to stacked memory.
