Like many of you, I'll be heading out to San Jose for the Embedded Systems Conference next week. For the last few years, the show was held in San Francisco. This year, the show' organizers decided to move the event down top San Jose to get as close as possible to the design engineer.
One paper/presentation that caught my eye revolves around the proper use of flash memory, called NAND Flash 101. The class discusses the basics of NAND Flash, demonstrating the power, density and cost advantages of NAND.
A second class that you might want to look into discusses how to integrate wireless LAN technologies into a mobile handset. Two specific examples are cited, one with Wi-Fi and one with UWB.
Check back to my blog column regularly as I'll be doing daily reports from ESC for the first half of the week. For the second half, I'm off to Vegas for CTIA. Hopefully I can sneak in a daily report from there as well.
