Darren Wenn is a Principal Field Applications Engineer: UK, Ireland & Benelux, for Microchip Technology. He lives just outside of London with his long-suffering wife, Sarah. In his role with Microchip, Darren primarily works on large systems that utilize Microchip’s higher end 16- and 32-bit PIC® microcontrollers. He greatly enjoys the variety of this work, which can entail both hardware and software design for customers; along with authoring articles and teaching classes. Of particular interest to Darren at the moment is RTOS design, user interfaces and DSP.

Darren earned a degree in Physics from London University and, after a few more years, obtained a Ph.D. from Reading University in Cybernetics; which apparently has something to do with robots. After lecturing for a while on embedded systems and obtaining chartered status, Darren then consulted and finally ended up working for Microchip Technology as a principal field applications engineer..

When not at work, Darren likes to put technology to one side and pursue outdoor activities, such as hiking, mountaineering and shooting, although not necessarily all at the same time..

Chris McAneny is Business Development Director for Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) at Future Electronics. He lives outside London with his wife and two children..

Chris has more than 30 years in the electronics industry, working for both manufacturers and distributors, across semiconductors, passives, connectors, electromechanical and embedded solutions technologies. He has had the pleasure of traveling across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, North and South Americas, and Africa, and experienced the market-cycle boom and busts since 1980.

Tim Moffat is an Electrical Engineering Intern with Microchip Technology Inc. He specializes in rapid prototyping, dealing with everything from board assembly to additive manufacturing. Tim is currently studying Electrical Engineering at Chandler/Gilbert Community College.
