Heads up for any audio designers planning on (or thinking about) attending the upcoming 129th Audio Engineering Society (AES) convention in San Francisco (to be held November 4-7). For the first time the show will feature a dedicated Product Design Track, which will offer more than 20 Workshops, Tutorials and Master Classes focused on audio product development.
The events are planned to explore audio design tips and challenges on everything from iPhone strategies to "DSP for Dummies." Here's a sampling of just a few that caught my eye (click on the links for details):
- Grounding & Shielding - Circuits & Interference Part 1 & Part 2 (Master Class)
- iPhone Sound Design - Lessons Learned (Tutorial)
- DSP - Why So Hard? (Master Class)
- Licensing 3rd Party Technology, How to Make it Work For You (Workshop)
- Designing Microphone Preamplifiers (Tutorial)
- An Overview of Audio System Grounding and Interfacing (Tutorial)
- IEEE 802.1 Audio/Video Bridging (AVB) (Workshop)
- Networking for Audio Applications (Tutorial)
- High Resolution Computer Audio (Master Class)
- Progress in Computer-Based Playback of High Resolution Audio (Workshop)
A complete preliminary calendar of events for the 129th AES Convention lists the above (including mouseover abstracts) as well as much more.
