Why is DesignCon important for IC designers?

While I am OK standing up and giving a talk, seminar or panel, I hate seeing myself. I don’t even like hearing my own voice – so I guess I should apologize to all of you who have listened or watched me over the years. You all deserve a medal. But just in case you think I ever have anything good to say, there were a couple of videos shot of me while I was down at DesignCon this year.
The first one was done by EE Times and I talk about “worlds colliding” where the board and IC come together. I also talk about the panel that I moderated that afternoon.
The next day, I was cornered by PCB Design 007 and they shot another video of me. My friend Max said “Very good – almost sounded like you knew what you were talking about (grin)”. He also said that he received an email from Andy “saying you were mega-smart (but he’s a PCB guy so what does he know? :-)”
I will let you decide:

OK, so enough of the videos.
