TI Silicon Valley Labs - The ultimate in collaboration

I remember the great excitement surrounding the opening of The Tech in Silicon Valley decades ago (yes, I’m that old). TI announced TI Silicon Valley Labs, a research center, and an effort equally large. The goal, according to TI is to conduct advanced research and development in analog and mixed signal circuits and technologies through recruitment of top talent and close collaboration with universities and customers. Check out a video covering TI SiliconValleyLabs.

By focusing on disruptive innovation, top university involvement in solving relevant problems, and customer validation of the projects at hand, TI hopes to gain a shorter cycle to product development and the ability to offer solutions based on greater, more meaningful collaboration.

Congrats TI for launching such a huge effort in Silicon Valley. Click here for more information.

TI's Silicon Valley Labs has incorporated much of the former National Semiconductor NS Labs. Projects there are a continuation of some NS projects prior to TI's acquisition as well as new focus driven by TI.

Speaking from personal experience, both the NS Labs activities and now the total TI Silicon Valley Labs environment will result in disruptive solutions to customer problems in the near future.
