What were they thinking: Picking your nose

Manners, decency and etiquette are obviously words not in the vocabulary of Charles E. Willard of Indiana. In facts words are totally not his strongest skill. The totality of the words in this patent are reproduced here along with the drawings.

Claim – The ornamental design for a nose pick as shown and described.

Description – Fig 1 is a plan view of a nose pick, showing my new design;

Fig 2 is a side view thereof with the opposite side view being a mirror image thereof.

Fig 3 is a bottom view thereof; and,

Fig 4 is an end view with the opposite end view being a mirror image thereof.

It is also clearly evident that he had a lot of help putting those words together because I know thereof is not a word in common usage by the lay folk of Indiana. And just in case you were wondering, this patent was issued in 2000 and nobody else can pick their nose with a fake finger for 14 years!

I also see that the lawyer had problems with the consistency of his work in that he likes to use a semicolon at the end of each of the figure description except for figure 2 which clearly warrants a period.

Brian Bailey – keeping you amused

If your nose itches, it needs picked.
Fingers are handy and do a very effective job.
If someone is offended by someone picking their nose, then they are too brain dead to appreciate when someone needs to allieviate a distraction.
Just a thought.

There is one thing that is more gross than you picking your nose and thats when somebody else is picking your nose. This invention is close to that..

I wish my boss had one of these! When he points a finger at me he will also be pointing at himself!

Almost as good as a mirror to reflect his condemnation back at himself. What a dastardly way of thinking!

It's a design patent, not a utility patent, so it only covers the appearance of the gadget, not its' functionality.
