B&B Electronics purchases IMC Networks, third major acquisition in 9 mos.

Making headway on its goal of becoming a single point-of-support for connectivity solutions for industrial networks, B&B Electronics just bought IMC Networks. What IMC brings to B&B is its comprehensive fiber access networking solutions. 24-year old IMC provides optical access and media conversion solutions for LAN, MAN and FTTx applications. Its claim to fame is the design of the first fiber optic access and media conversion solutions. B&B also gains a better global hold since more than 60% of IMC’s sales are outside of the U.S.
IMC is the third major acquisition in a 9-month period following the purchase of Quatech, an Ohio-based manufacturer of industrial connectivity solutions, and Czech-based Conel s.r.o., a manufacturer of wireless communications routers, gateways, and devices that connect cellular networks to Ethernet, serial and other data networks.
These purchases are going far to strengthen B&B’s reputation as a significant global industrial M2M supplier.
