Wind turbine industry to grow by 5.7% from 2011-2016

The global wind turbines industry totaled revenues of $36.9 billion in 2011, representing a compound annual growth rate of 1.5 percent between 2007 and 2011, according to the Research and Markets.



In its latest report, entitled Global Wind Turbines, Research and Markets indicated that the industry production volumes increased with a CAGR of 21.6 percent between 2007 and 2011, to represent 43.5 GW in 2011.

Research and Markets said it anticipates that the performance of the industry will accelerate, with an anticipated CAGR of 5.7 percent for the five-year period 2011-2016. This is expected to drive the industry to a value of $48.5 billion by the end of 2016, the research firm said.
