Silicon Valley Nation: Thank an engineer for the shuttle

Brian Fuller

SAN FRANCISCO--On a beautiful last day of summer, the Shuttle Endeavour took a bow as it flew over California toward its final resting place, a museum in southern California. Hundreds of thousands of people in the Bay Area stopped what they were doing and craned their necks skyward to see the engineering marvel as it flew by, piggyback on top of a 747.

Here are two short videos that capture the shuttle's approach toward the Golden Gate Bridge. The first, taken by videographer Kirk Fuller, from the hills of Marin County, captures the grandeur of it all.

The second I took with an iPhone from the hills of San Francisco's Presidio. This one is worth watching just to hear people applauding at the end, and when they do, they're thanking an army of engineers.

Shouldn't "shuttle" be capitalized since it's the name of a specific vehicle (a proper noun)? I see this so often and I don't understand why.
