Micron ships phase change memory

Phase-change memory (PCM) is maturing. Micron reported volume shipments of its 1-Gb, 45-nm PCM to Nokia for use in devices such as the Nokia Asha phone. The device combines a 1-Gb PCM die with a 512-Mb SDRAM and an LPDDR2 interface. Elsewhere, SK Hynix Inc. joined forces with IBM to develop PCM designed for server applications.
