Mentor Graphics has announced financial results for the company’s fiscal fourth quarter and year ended January 31, 2013. The company reported revenues of $331.2 million, non-GAAP earnings per share of $.58, and GAAP earnings per share of $.49. For the full fiscal year, revenues were $1,088.7 million, non-GAAP earnings per share were a record $1.42, and GAAP earnings per share were $1.17. In fiscal year 2013 revenue grew 7.3 % while non-GAAP and GAAP earnings per share grew 26% and 58% respectively. Non-GAAP and GAAP operating margins for the year were all-time records at 19.3% and 14.8% respectively.

The Design and Verification Conference (DVCon), sponsored by Accellera Systems Initiative, concluded this week with record attendance. Overall attendance rose to 883, including full conference and exhibit only registration. Attendance was further enhanced by more than 200 exhibitor personnel that also had access to the panels and keynote. The conference continues to attract new exhibitors, and this year was no exception with 7 first timers.

Tanner EDA has released version 16 of the company’s HiPer Silicon full-flow design suite, offering designers an analog and mixed-signal design flow from digital (HDL) and analog (Spice, Verilog-A) electrical design and simulation, through synthesis to physical layout and verification. HiPer Silicon v16 contains new features and functionality, including OpenAccess database support for PDK and EDA tool interoperability, Collaborative design / multi-user design control for enhanced team productivity, Improved file loading and rendering speeds, Improved performance of physical verification (HiPer Verify), Integrated mixed-signal simulation (Verilog-AMS co-simulation) and Parametric plots, scatter plots and improved text control and graphics manipulation.

Real Intent has announced its newest distribution partner – Grand Technology, Inc. of Taiwan, also known as GTI. Adding local sales and support expertise in Taiwan addresses growing demand for Real Intent’s advanced verification solutions, and complements Real Intent’s existing sales and support teams in Europe, North America and Asia.

The TechAmerica Compact Model Council (CMC) has announced the reinstitution of PSP as a standard MOSFET model. A new standard version of PSP (103.2.0) was developed in collaboration with the Delft University of Technology. It features self-heating and other improvements related to runtime and noise modeling. Kilopass Technology has received an $8 million funding from a major consumer electronics licensee who wishes to remain anonymous until its own product launch.  Kilopass embedded NVM is mission critical to the customer’s current and future products. The funding reflects a commitment to Kilopass technology and confidence in its memory expertise to successfully address the customer’s future product needs. Kilopass will use the capital infusion to expand the company’s technology roadmap and market presence.

Carbon Design Systems says that its newest Carbon Performance Analysis Kit (CPAK™) featuring the ARM® Cortex™-R7 processor is available for download from the Carbon IP Exchange web portal (www.carbonipexchange.com). Previously available to strategic partners in Carbon’s R7 early access program, the CPAK and model are now available for all users of its SoCDesigner Plus, enabling real-time development of embedded systems.
