Amazing invention

I love 3D animation. Sometime around the middle of the 1980s I came into possession of an Atari ST. I also bought a book on creating 3D graphics, and spent ages entering a program in assembly language that would take an array of "points" and display them as a wireframe model that could be crudely manipulated in 3D on the screen.

Of course, the difference between what you could do then and what you can do now is staggering. For example, have you seen the really cool animation called Amazing Invention?

This is a few years old now, but it's still well worth a peek ... in fact it gets the creative juices flowing and makes you want to build one in the real world. Of course, the thing about YouTube is that you never watch only one video. The above page points you at other "inventions" and – before you know it – you're falling down the rabbit hole and time is racing by without your noticing it...

... Good Grief – is it Wednesday already? ... What month is it? ... How come I have a beard? We're in 2008? You must be joking!
