Steampunk TARDIS Control Console

Well, a reader we shall call Douglas (because that is his name) emailed me with some really good suggestions. I shall share these ideas at some future date [I'm being a little secretive here because I don't want to divulge the source of his antique electronic parts until I've snaffled up the ones I want (grin)].
The point is that Douglas certainly knows whereof he speaks, because he's currently involved in his own Steampunk project, which is to create a Steampunk version of the control console in Dr. Who's TARDIS [in years gone by, Douglas had created a Plexiglas version similar to the original TARDIS, but his new model (which is still a work-in-progress) is a beauty to behold]:

You can see larger, more detailed versions of this (and other) images on Douglas's website at http://douglas442.livejournal.com. Douglas told me that he welcomes feedback and suggestions (you can leave comments on his site or send them to me and I'll pass them on). In the meantime, feast your visual orbs on this console sub-panel:

Doesn't this look MEGA-COOL? This certainly gives a "feel" for what I want to achieve in my own humble "Display-O-Meter" project. In the meantime, I continue to play with my PICAXE microcontroller, plus I have some rather cunning thoughts pertaining to the interface and the underlying control algorithms ... watch this space...

| Miles: | T=1000, P=78.00, A=93.81, Δ=+15.81, R=906.19 |
| Note: | Almost 1/10 of the way there... |
