The 802.11 platform integrates Conexant's Prism GT 802.11g and WorldRadio 802.11a/g chipsets and Interpeak's IPNET and IPLITE dual-mode IPv4/IPv6 TCP/IP networking protocol stacks.

It is targeted at companies developing embedded wireless devices, including cellular phones, printers and digital cameras, and the companies say the system will speed time to market.

The platform was designed to be interoperable with many major real-time operating systems including OSE, Integrity and Linux, allowing manufacturers to leverage initial development work across multiple products, independent of the operating system.

Interpeak's protocol stacks support both IPv4 and IPv6, allowing device developers to rely on IPLITE and IPNET for a range of embedded devices. The IPNET is one of the first commercial TCP/IP stacks to pass the IPv6 Forum's requirements for such use.
