LONDON -- Discretix, the Israeli start up developing coprocessors for embedded security, has linked with ARM for an integrated secure flash controller targeted at the fast growing removable and embedded flash-based memory markets.

Integrating the ARM7TDMI embedded processor, or the ARM SecurCore range of processors, with the Discretix CryptoFlash security protocol, the device is aimed at next generation mobile handsets.

The companies say the combination will allow designers to reduce the complexity of adding security to their devices. This is important as the latest handsets integrate more and more functions, demand increases for portable secure memory that can support digital rights management and secure payments.

"This partnership with ARM marks an important milestone in the development of the secure flash controller market," said Edo Ganot, EVP Sales and Business Development, Discretix. "Vendors can now get a proven solution that addresses the need for high-end performance and robust security."
