LONDON — NDS Group plc, a provider of software for digital pay-TV, and fabless chip company Frontier Silicon Ltd. plan to demonstrate secure downloads made using mVideoGuard conditional access (CA) and digital rights management software over Frontier Silicon's T-DMB, DVB-H and DAB product platforms early in September.

At some time in the past the two companies agreed to the joint development and marketing of secure content protection and digital rights management for mobile digital TV and DAB digital radio.

Initial prototype platforms resulting from that agreement are due to be demonstrated at the International Broadcasting Convention, which takes place in Amsterdam, Sept. 9 to 13.

“Frontier's unique multi-standard T-DMB/DVB-H approach to mobile TV on top of the company's leading position in DAB/T-DMB chipsets, gives NDS opportunities to work with appropriate partners to develop the secure delivery solution that content providers can rely upon, over multiple broadcast technologies,” said Carmi Bogot, vice president of business development at NDS, in a statement issued by Frontier.
