Brooks chairman steps down

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Brooks Automation Inc. said that chairman and former CEO Robert Therrien will not seek re-election to the board. The role of independent lead director will continue to be filled by Amin Khoury.

Fab-automation specialist Brooks recently said revenues for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2005 were $103.3 million, a 9.2 percent sequential decrease from the preceding quarter revenues of $113.8 million and a decline of 36.4 percent from a year ago revenues of $162.3 million for the same period.

Net loss for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2005 on a GAAP basis was $7.6 million or $0.17 per share, which included $7.8 million or $0.17 per share in charges related to restructuring and amortization of acquired intangible assets.
