Teridian Semi joins Green Grid

MANHASSET, NY Teridian Semiconductor Corp. said it has joined The Green Grid, a global consortium dedicated to advancing energy efficiency in data centers and business computing ecosystems.
Green Grid provides industry-wide recommendations on best practices, metrics and technologies to improve overall data center and business computing energy efficiency.
Teridian (Irvine, Calif.) provides mixed-signal measurement and communication system-on-chip devices to electricity meter manufacturers. It recently expanded its product portfolio to include ICs that can be used in a variety of energy measurement, control and communication applications, including data server technology.
"We are pleased to be a member of The Green Grid, and look forward to playing an active role with other technology leaders in the improvement of energy efficiency globally," Gerald Fitch, president and CEO of Teridian Semiconductor, said in a statement.
The Green Grid Board of Directors includes executives from Advanced Micro Devices, APC, Dell, EMC, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Rackable Systems and Sun Microsystems.
Green Grid's annual technical forum is scheduled for Feb. 3-4 in San Jose, Calif.
