LONDON — ROS-ES, a real-time operating system for embedded systems, developed by Indian design services company Tata-Elxsi Ltd. (Bangalore, India), is now available for the Xtensa and Diamond processors from Tensilica Inc. (Santa Clara, Calif.).

The RoS-ES is suitable for networking and consumer electronics applications, according to Tata Elxsi.

"Tensilica's processor cores are extremely efficient and, when paired with our RoS-ES RTOS, they are very effective SOC controllers," said Nitin Pai, general manager of marketing at Tata Elxsi, in a statement. "The RoS-ES operating system is ideal for designers looking for an easy-to-use, small footprint RTOS for embedded devices that includes flexible licensing options, support, and a wide range of complementary product design and engineering services."
