Qimonda R&D equipment up for auction

LONDON — Approximately 650 lots of automatic test equipment, assembly and packaging and test and measurement instruments formerly used by Qimonda at a site in Munich, Germany, for DRAM R&D are due to go under the hammer on Wednesday Feb. 24.

The online auction is being organized by GoIndustry DoveBid on the instructions of Michael Jaffe, the insolvency administrator of Qimonda AG and Qimonda Flash GmbH. Bidding on the lots begins on Wednesday Feb. 17.

The equipment is designed to test both wafers and packaged chips and was formerly used for the R&D of DRAMs.

The lots include Hewlett Packard, Advantest and Credence memory testers as well as a variety of instruments from Agilent, LeCroy, Tektronix, Rohde & Schwarz, Anritsu, Keithley, Schlumberger, Olympus, Leica and Zeiss.

Buyers must remove the equipment from the Munich site by March 12.
