During the event, Mark Pinto, executive vice president and general manager for the Energy and Environmental Solutions and Display unit at Applied, outlined the progress for SunFab. According to Pinto, here's what Applied has in store for SunFab:
During the event, Mark Pinto, executive vice president and general manager for the Energy and Environmental Solutions and Display unit at Applied, outlined the progress for SunFab. According to Pinto, here's what Applied has in store for SunFab:
1. Applied will cut its operating expenses by 20 percent in the SunFab unit. Much of the expenses will be re-directed to the company's deposition tool technologies.
2. At present, the SunFab panels have a power efficiency of about 8 percent. In the lab, Applied is working on SunFab technology at power efficiencies of 9.9 percent.
3. Applied has installed 70MW of SunFab technology. The company has 425MW of SunFab technology in the pipeline.
