Bandspeed lands patent for 802.11n technology

AUTSIN, Texas Wireless LAN (WLAN) chip developer Bandspeed has landed a patent for crosstalk cancellation and interference suppression technology that will improve signal reliability and clarity in 802.11n systems.
"The patented technology allows an extra degree of freedom to help provide a more reliable link or the ability to remove noise," said Stan Skafidas, co-founder and CTO of Bandspeed.
The patent covers a filter design and the use of discrete multi-tone (DMT) and OFDM technology in the development of a multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO WLAN design. The patent also covers how the company separates sources on a tone-by-tone basis.
