Bob Chao, CEO and founder of Advanced Linear Devices Inc., is scheduled to speak Wednesday on the importance of ultra-low power and zero-power circuitry in making energy harvesting sources more practical for everyday applications. Chao will make a presentation to attendees at Darnell Group's NanoPower Forum in San Jose.

WHO: Bob Chao, CEO and Founder of Advanced Linear Devices, Inc. a leading authority in analog semiconductor technology for more than 30 years. He has pioneered several industry firsts in low power technology. Chao holds 10 patents and held many executive and technical management positions throughout his career.

WHAT: During a 30-minute presentation entitled "Zero-Power Circuitry Manages Energy Harvesting Sources for Mainstream Applications," Chao will discuss the particular design considerations needed to build power management circuits that make energy harvesting sources a more reliable supply for wireless sensor networks and other applications.

WHERE: NanoPower Forum, Marriott San Jose, 301 S. Market St., San Jose, Calif.

WHEN: 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, June 6 during a session on Energy Harvesting Components.

Chao is also scheduled to participate in a NanoPower Forum roundtable discussion entitled "Can energy harvesting support the power needs of low power devices?" on 5 p.m. Monday, June 5 also at the San Jose Marriot.
