Luminus Devices announces its PhlatLight products are Rohs-compliant and environmentally friendly
7/31/2006 5:30 PM EDT
Luminus develops and manufactures high performance solid state light emitting devices and systems using the most advanced manufacturing processes. Its PhlatLight (Photonic Lattice Light) technology produces the only solid state light source powerful enough to illuminate large screen rear projection televisions (RPTVs). With PhlatLight chipsets currently in production, Luminus is leading the industry in developing cost-effective, solid state light sources with extremely high power and brightness to illuminate state-of-the-art, high-definition displays, including projection TVs, LCD-TVs and projectors.
Television manufacturers, retailers and consumers can be assured that PhlatLight products are 100% free of mercury, lead or other hazardous materials, making them RoHS-compliant and environmentally friendly. In addition, TVs illuminated with PhlatLight technology are "greener" and consume less power than TVs of comparable screen size, saving energy and reducing air pollution, while the inherent long lifetime advantages of solid state light sources means no more discarded bulbs, reducing the amount of toxic solid waste.
