Minden, Nev. — METALAST International has entered the fire safety industry with the environmentally-friendly METALAST BDP line of fire retardant and fume suppressant chemistries that do not contain VOC, deca-BDE, PBDE, or brominated chemicals.

METALAST BDP can be used on metals, plastics, textiles, synthetics, fabrics, glue, paper and building materials. UL has placed METALAST BDP in its own class of fire retardant chemicals due to its high-performance fire retardant capabilities, said the company.
