Frost and Sullivan's Excellence in Industrial Technologies Award Winners

Industry analysts Frost and Sullivan handed out their 2009 Excellence in Industrial Technologies Awards on Wednesday April 8th, in San Antonio, Texas.   The Industrial Technologies Awards are given to companies that have made a significant contribution to the manufacturing, automation, logistics, distribution, materials, construction, security, and process industries.

"Despite the recession, innovation abounds", said Sath Rao Director of Industrial Automation and Process Control at Frost and Sullivan. "The companies recognized at the awards banquet were a clear indication that innovation that helps manufacturers to drive out costs, is gaining ground and will play a significant part in the recovery.  Innovation, strategic partnerships and customer focus clearly are hallmarks of successful companies even during a downturn."

The winners with an industrial control focus dealing with either hardware or software include:

• Lockheed Martin - 2009 Global Biometrics Systems Integrator Company of the Year Award
• MicroStrain - 2009 North American Sensors Business Development Strategy of the Year Award
• MIRTEC Corporation - 2009 Global AOI Inspection Equipment Product Innovation of the Year Award
• Omnitrol - 2009 North American Real-time Operational Visibility & Enterprise Application Integration Excellence in Product Value of the Year Award
