The folks at Altera have announced that their Arria GX family of low-cost, transceiver-equipped FPGAs has received a distinguishing industry recognition from the EN-Genius Network (www.en-genius.net).

It seems that Arria GX FPGAs received the EN-Genius Network's annual "Product of the Year" award for the "Best Value High-Performance FPGA." Winners were selected in 29 different product categories from the hundreds of products reviewed in 2007 by EN-Genius.

"Product of the Year awards are based on the personal opinion of the EN-Genius editorial staff," said EN-Genius editor-in-chief Paul McGoldrick. "We believe these award-winning products will make significant contributions to the bottom line numbers for the companies involved based on their strong technical merit, design innovation and marketability."

About the Arria GX FPGA family
The Arria GX family is optimized for the most popular serial protocols: PCI Express (PCIe) ×1 and ×4, Gigabit Ethernet (GbE), and Serial RapidIO (SRIO) protocols at speeds of up to 2.5 Gbps. The five Arria GX family members range from 20K to 90K logic elements (LEs), and are backed by a comprehensive portfolio of software tools, intellectual property (IP), system models and reference designs.
