IMEC spinoff seeks funds for baseband processor

LONDON A Belgian startup called M4S, spinoff from the IMEC (Leuven, Belgium) research institute, is looking for venture capital to help it develop a programmable RF and digital baseband processor for use in such applications as GSM/GPRS, 3G, HSDPA, WiMAX, DAB, DVB and Bluetooth.
The company was selected to present to a group of venture capitalists and senior executives at an event organized by the European Tech Tour Association, held in Leuven, Belgium, on Oct. 25. The event followed on immediately after the Advance Research Review Meeting held there on Oct. 23 and 24.
M4S is so new as to not have a known website.
M4 is the name of multimode multimedia (M4) research and development program at IMEC. In March 2006 announced it had extended collaborations with CoWare Inc. and added Arteris SA and Mentor Graphics Corp. to the research program
