Three French firms team on high-end controllers

PARIS – Dolphin Integration SA, Cortus SA and Raisonnance SA announced they have concluded a collaboration agreement related to the cores of price-sensitive high-performance systems-on-chip (SoCs).

Through their agreement, partners highlighted their intention to enhance their offering of platforms for SoC development, migration and debug.

In more specific terms, Dolphin Integration, French provider of embedded memories and audio converters in the form of IP cores, and Cortus, French developer of compact, ultra low power 32-bit RISC processors for embedded applications, said they are extending to high-end controllers their cooperation with Raisonance, French developer of tools for microcontrollers and SoCs.

Dolphin noted that it has extended its microcontrollers range, from the legacy i8051 already enriched as Flip8051/251 to the APS3-2051. The Grenoble-based company claims this enables a "cost-effective move toward the 32-bit microcontroller market."

In parallel, Cortus explained that its 32-bit mostly RISC processor has been enriched with Dolphin's PRemier Interactive Development Environment (PRIDE), which benefits from Dolphin's patented Real-Time debugger BIRD and SUCCESS cosimulator.
