Swedish processor startup replaces CEO

LONDON — Coresonic AB, a Swedish developer of programmable baseband processors targeting wireless and broadcast technologies, has appointed Johan Lodenius as its chief executive officer.

Lodenius, who spent almost a decade at Qualcomm CDMA Technologies (QCT) and helped build up that group as vice president of the chips business, replaces Rick Clucas, who remains at Coresonic (Linkoping, Sweden) as head of business development.

Lodenius has been on the board of directors at Coresonic for almost two years

Clucas, an ex-CTO and co-founder of ARC International plc, was appointed CEO of the Swedish processor group in September 2007.

"The board felt the company needed to go to the next phase and focus on certain things and have a strategic agenda. The technologies we are involved in, both wireless such as WiMax and LTE and broadcast such as mobile TV, are just so complex that it is unrealistic that we can do it all at the system level," Lodenius told EE Times in an interview.
