It is believed that Swisscom has added about $2 million to the Series C round bringing the amount raised by the three-year old startup to $44 million. Quantenna announced it had closed its Series C round at $13.85 million in April 2009 and that brought the amount raised to $42 million.
Quantenna's business is based on standards-based 4x4 MIMO technology and dynamic digital beamforming to deliver advanced broadband applications throughout the home. Quantenna's chipsets are designed for use in consumer electronics devices, such as home residential gateways, set-top boxes, routers and HDTVs, which all require high bandwidth and reliability to support whole home video streaming and networking over standard Wi-Fi networks.
Quantenna's 4x4 MIMO with dynamic digital beamforming solutions are sampling now and currently being field tested.
The Series C round also includes previous announced investors Grazia Equity, Sequoia Capital, Sigma Partners, Southern Cross Venture Partners and Venrock Associates. With this additional funding investment, Quantenna plans to expand its position in whole-home 4x4 MIMO wireless networking with dynamic digital beamforming and to expand its field trials with leading customers.
