Two Synfora moves to foster high-level synthesis tools

PARIS — Seeking to further promote its PICO high level synthesis platform, Synfora Inc. announced it has appointed EDA expert Andrew Haines as vice president marketing and signed a distribution agreement with Israel-based Satris Group.

Taking on new responsibilities, Haines said he will lead Synfora's marketing efforts to position Synfora for its next phase of growth. He will be in charge of expanding the company's PICO high level synthesis platform, which is claimed to provide designers with productivity gains by creating application accelerators from an untimed C algorithm at the highest level of abstraction.

Prior to joining Synfora, Haine was vice president of marketing at Synopsys, Inc. and senior vice president of marketing at Synplicity, Inc.

Earlier positions include director of marketing, Actel Corporation, ASIC strategic marketing manager, VLSI Technology, Inc., and major accounts marketing manager, Intel Corporation.

In parallel, Synfora said it has concluded a distribution agreement with Satris Group to provide sales, marketing and technical support for its high level synthesis tools in Israel.

This initiative aims to meet the growing demand for solutions at higher levels of abstraction, both for ASICs and FPGAs, in Israel. Satris indeed noted that several customers expressed interest in Synfora's PICO C Synthesis tool.
