PARIS — Cadence Design Systems Inc. and Rapid Bridge LLC have signed an agreement under which Rapid Bridge's LiquidIP, a system of interdependent, silicon-proven IPs, becomes available as part of the Cadence Open Integration Platform.

Under the terms of the distribution agreement, Cadence said it gains access to the complete range of Rapid Bridge's LiquidIP solutions, including LiquidIO, LiquidMXS, LiquidPHY, LiquidSerDes, LiquidMemory and LiquidCell library. Rapid Bridge’s LiquidIP is a collection of flexible IP developed to meet the challenges of advanced nanometer designs.

With such access, Cadence said it will be able to provide additional IP cores through its Open Integration Platform. The ultimate goal, the San Jose-company specified, is to offer the semiconductor industry more choices for IP solutions.

“As part of our EDA360 vision for the semiconductor industry, Cadence is focused on easing the integration of high-quality IP,” stated Vishal Kapoor, vice president of product management at Cadence. "The best way to do this is through a collaborative ecosystem—the Open Integration Platform—and we are happy to have Rapid Bridge joining forces with us.”
