Mirics secures an extra $13 million

LONDON – PC-TV software-plus-silicon company Mirics Semiconductor Ltd. has announced it has secured $13 million in additional funding with its existing investors – Acacia Capital Partners, Intel Capital and Pond Ventures – all participating in this latest round.
It is thought the latest round brings the amount of money raised by Mirics (Fleet, England) since its formation in 2004 to $32 million.
The company said it would use the latest tranche of money to grow market share for its FlexiTV product as it targest a range of consumer and computing devices (GFsuch as smart-, note- and netbooks. FlexiTV is the lowest cost way to integrate a multi-standard broadcast receiver into such mass-market consumer products, Mirics said.
"Mirics' investment team have all been very impressed at its recent multiple successes in securing new business across a diverse customer base," said Marcos Battisti, Managing Director, Intel Capital.
