Interesting enough. As recently as October IC Insights was saying 450-mm was a matter of "if not when". Now we have their first cut on when.

Surprisingly I agree with all 5 and would add that the foundry business (TSMC) will grow 20% in 2011.

What about effect of GFs? UMC has fixed market share but GF is highly pushy, after Q4 '10 releases of TSMC i would doubt about 20% in '11 but growth for all foundries for sure, i agree on that.

Fully agree with Bill McClean - 2011 will likely be a double digit growth year for ICs.
IC Insights has maintained that projection since September (unlike many far more conservative forecasters)

@dnenni: how about EUV? Pushed out to 2015? Nikon's Lithovision this year will be interesting, I suspect we will hear the same reasons for the delay as last year's!
@sranje: if 2011 ends up being a double digit growth year for chip companies, you think hiring will keep pace?

Will this be possible using current staffing or or we likely to see a hiring pickup with these numbers?

''Pent up demand unleased for PCs, autos, etc.''
We don't need more unleased cars.
